WHO ARE WE
Sanctus Salutem is the home for 3 divisions, Fullness of Life Ministries, Catholic Docs and is a division of Sanctus Salutem. We provide mentoring programs, workshops, outreach and education which incorporates a Religious and Biblical approach to address the emotional, mental and psychological dis-ease that is perpetuating through society. We believe that healing incorporates tapping into the inner essence of our being and focusing on reconnecting with the source of Life – God.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Form the Body
Aquinas treats the body as the material co-principle that must be disciplined and habituated so its sensitive powers (passions, habits of movement, and bodily appetites) become well-ordered instruments of the rational soul. Physical training, posture, temperance regarding food and sleep, and the cultivation of bodily virtues are classic Thomistic concerns (see ST I-II, qq. 49–70 on habits and the sensitive appetite; also his commentaries on Aristotle’s Politics and Nicomachean Ethics regarding gymnastic education). Forming the body emphasizes long-term growth and readiness rather than mere restoration.
Order the Intellect
The intellect—the cognitive power of the rational soul—must be ordered to truth through the intellectual virtues. Teaching and study restore right reason by overcoming ignorance and disordered thinking, directing the mind toward clear, coherent knowledge of reality. Aquinas frequently employs medical and pedagogical analogies for this work (De Veritate q. 11; STI-II, q. 95), portraying intellectual formation as the careful ordering of the soul’s highest knowing power.
Perfect the Will
The will—the rational appetite and primary power by which the soul is perfected toward the good—must be formed in the moral and theological virtues. Education, for Aquinas, is the ordered leading-out of the whole person toward its final end (beatitude). It perfects the will through truth and virtue so that desire itself is rightly directed (ST I, q. 117; De Magistro).
